“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” (James 1: 12)
I’m reminded today of the trials and tribulations we face in life. The hardships we encounter on a day-to-day basis can be overwhelming and is enough to make anyone recoil. It is in these moments that our faith is tested. Do we allow ourselves to succumb to the hardships of this world or do we spiritually triumph and allow God to work in our lives? Know that God will test those who desire a closer relationship with him and that enduring hardships are a part of that journey. Just as Christ endured so shall we, for if we do not endure how can spiritual growth truly occur? We must understand and accept, that it is only through God that we are able to overcome the trials of this world. Whether it be financial, marital, addiction, whatever struggles you may be experiencing in your life, know that we only conquer through God. Trust and believe that he eagerly wants us to understand this and desires us to lean on him and only him for support and guidance. Going forth I challenge you not to look at these hardships as a burden or as God forsaking you, but rather rejoice and welcome the opportunity for God to work on you and your family.
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness, and let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing” (James 1: 2-4)
