Sunday… He has Risen!!

Early this morning, before dawn, Mary Magdalene and Jesus Mother went to Jesus tomb to anoit His body with spices. There was a violent earthquake as an Angel from the Lord had came down and rolled back the stone which sealed the tomb. The guards that were present froze in fear. “The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.””Matthew‬ ‭28:5-7‬ ‭NIV‬‬. While the women were on their way the guards reported what had happened to the chief priests. The priests devised a plan, giving the guards a large sum of money instructed them to tell everyone that Jesus followers stole Jesus body in the middle of the night while they slept. Despite the Sanhedrins plan they could hide the fact that Jesus Christ had actually risen from the dead. Over the next many days Jesus would appear to many people teaching his disciples and instructing them. He told them to stay in Jersusalem and wait for the gift of the Holy Spirit. He also gave them a final commission “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.””‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:19-20‬ ‭NIV. After these things Jesus ascended into heaven as his disciples looked on.After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.””Acts‬ ‭1:4, 9-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬
