Slow to Anger

Today I had a confrontation at work and this verse immediately popped in my head. The work of the Holy Spirit without doubt. A gentleman approached me full of anger. I could’ve taken it as disrespect (which it was) but instead I cooled both his and my own agitation with a gentle response. He took a DEEP breath, composed himself and IMMEDIATELY apologized and said he was sorry for how he behaved. He even came back two hours later and continued to apologize. I smiled at him and told him it was ok. Not every battle is won with force. In fact most are won by tact. What I said to him wasn’t a cowardly response. Had I raised my voice and said the same thing it would’ve easily incited a flame, But I chose to diffuse the situation instead of escalating it. We do not have to feed into the emotions of others. Have control of your tongue, do not let your tongue have control over you. #thepowerofthetongue #idefinefatherhood #Jesus #God #Holyspirit #Love #marriage #family
